Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Conestogo PS!

For those students returning – welcome back! To our new families joining us for the first time, welcome to Conestogo.

To comply with privacy legislation, class lists will no longer be posted on the outside windows or doors of your child’s school.  At your convenience starting September 3rd and throughout the weekend, you will be able to determine your child’s homeroom teacher using School Day. 

We have such an amazing team of educators at Conestogo and we are fortunate to welcome both our new staff and returning staff this year!

School begins on Wednesday September 6th at 9:20am and finishes at 3:40pm daily. Our staff will greet students on the tarmac at the front and back of the school to begin our new school year.  Please refer to our First Day Map: Conestogo to see where your student will meet  (based on Grade level) to find out their class placement.   Teachers will reach out to families next week to communicate specific information for each class.

Upon arriving Wednesday at 9:10-9:20 am, staff will ensure students find their teachers and line up locations, whether they walk or ride the bus.  Staff will be outside starting at 9:10am to greet students, assist with finding their classes and walking them inside to begin their day.  If you arrive after classes have entered the building, please come to the front and buzz the office and we will assist you.

Parking Lot

Our parking lot is for the use of staff, school buses and contractors solely, as well as for extended day pickup/dropoff.  If picking up or dropping off a child, please DO NOT come into our parking lot during school hours.  This poses a serious safety risk.  There is parking available on Flax Mill Dr. and Evening Star Ln., and then walk across to the school.  

Transportation

Bussing information should have been sent directly to families outlining your child’s bus route and pick up/drop off times.  This is not managed by Conestogo P.S., so if you have not received communication please contact STSWR (Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region) at 519-744-7575 or go to their website at https://www.stswr.ca/parents/.

CONSTRUCTION: is tentatively to start on Wednesday September 6th and will result in the road being closed between Sawmill Road and River and will not be open for the bus.  As such, the timings and stop order of bus 241 to Conestogo will the same they were in June 2023.  Please connect with STSWR at the number above if you have any questions.
