June 28th, 2019

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a wonderful school year. We have been celebrating our many successes over the past few weeks and it was been a wonderful way to end the school year. I would also like to express my appreciation for the lovely retirement celebrations. It was a pleasure handing out cupcakes yesterday and connecting with every student in the school. Our school assembly was a wonderful celebration and I am so touched to have a book of memories, created by our students. CPS is a very caring community and I feel very honoured to be finishing my 31-year career with the WRDSB, as your Principal. I am very pleased to welcome Michael Sendrea as your new Principal. Michael is very excited to be joining the CPS community!

I would like to congratulate Karen Larke on her retirement. Karen wanted to wait to announce her retirement until the school year was finished and we are excited to be celebrating with her today.  Karen has been at CPS for the past 14 years and has shared her passion for French and for Harry Potter with many students. Karen made a positive difference on the lives of many students. Congratulations Karen! Nancy Wagner is finishing her 28^th year in education, 11 of which has been at Conestogo PS. Nancy has made a positive impact on many students over the years and we wish her all the best in her retirement! Kendra Platt is finishing her 30^th year in education and has been at CPS for the past 15 years, and prior to that 2 years at Winterbourne PS. In her role as Special Education Resource Teacher, Kendra has taught many students how to read and has worked very closely with WRDSB personnel to bring in many supports for students. Congratulations on your retirement Kendra!

I would like to wish Rachael Quickfall all the best as she takes next year off to pursue her education and explore some new opportunities. Erin Forsyth is taking next year off as she is expecting her first child in July and Sarah Fischer is leaving CPS as her LTO is finished at the end of this month. Rachael, Erin and Sarah are important members of our school community and I want to wish them all the best next year!

In conclusion, I would to take this opportunity to thank all members of our CPS community: students, staff and parents. Thank you for everything you do to make Conestogo PS the amazing school that it is! Enjoy a safe and wonderful summer!
